On an 1850s Kentucky farm, 61-year-old planter Ephraim Cade (married to Clarita) sends for 22-year-old Sadie and shares her, mouth to marathon, with a second man who pays to use her too.

Kentucky, 1854. Ephraim Cade is sixty-one, white, landed, and married to Clarita, who keeps to the upstairs rooms once the lamps go down. Sadie is twenty-two, Black, and bound to his farm. He does not court her. He sends for her. He uses her mouth, her breasts, her hands, her throat, then keeps her on the boards until she is shaking, wet, and marked. When a second man arrives with cash and an appetite, Ephraim does not hide Sadie. He shares her: two mouths at once, a facial in barn dust, a 69 that lasts until her jaw aches, marathon hours that smell like sweat, tobacco, and control. Sadie learns the shape of their hunger, and what freedom might cost if she reaches for it.
